Every summer growing up, I was the kid tie-dying all my white garments in the backyard. Pretty much always working on my hippie summer camp counselor ensemble. Give me some dye and beads and any shirt was transformed from ordinary to my inner music festival. I thought I was so damn cool. So now I’m 30…I stopped backyard tie-dye sessions but I still enjoy the vibe and the look: see family matching summer pjs below and my new tie-dye long sleeve crop top.
I also love a good comfy crop top. Perfect for our current ‘everyday work from home outfits’. I’m not big on showing my stomach but I have a really short torso which makes crop tops look like regular shirts and when they’re too short, I go for the super high waisted Fabletics leggings. Comfy yet stylish, unlike my usual gremlin sweatpants and beanie look.
I know typically tie-dye is a summer garment but the darker green color and lack of multiple colors made this easy to mix into my flannel, neutrals, and plaid Fall/Winter wardrobe. This green tie-dye long sleeve crop top paired great with sweaters and jeans as well.
I just think it’s about time we get this happy tie dye vibe into our year round outfits. Do you agree?
