One of my favorite things to do is create something delicious for someone else. I was so amped up jamming out making this cocktail tail I tossed the lemon in the glass from as high as my arms could reach in the air. So dramatic and unnecessary but why not have fun when creating something delicious. Take the time this upcoming holiday season to play bartender for your friends and family. It’s winter time and while I almost always lean towards a mulled wine or any cocktail with Whiskey, I wanted to make something a little more fresh and citrusy. Mostly because I could make it with champagne and call it a brunch cocktail to drink before noon but also to mix it up a bit.
I was lucky to be offered VOVETI Prosecco as the shining ingredient in this citrus holiday Lemon Elderflower and Thyme Prosecco Cocktail. VOVETI is a brut style DOC with tempered acidity and a fresh, graceful profile. Perfect for the cocktail I had in mind. The acidity from the prosecco, citrus and lightness from the lemon and earthy taste from the thyme simple syrup makes for the perfect day time cocktail.
Along with the 750ml bottle, came two mini 187ml bottles cute as can be and perfect for single servings of this Lemon Elderflower and Thyme Prosecco Cocktail!
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Belvoir Elderflower Presse
- Voveti Prosecco
- 1 tsp Thyme Simple Syrup
- (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 5 thyme)
Instructions
- Combine sugar, water and thyme in a small pot. Bring to a boil and let cool completely. This is your Thyme Simple Syrup.
- Combine lemon juice, simple syrup and elderflower presse in two glasses, top with prosecco and enjoy!
