A little over a year ago I was boarding a plane and on my way to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. It seems like a distant memory at this point. A happy sunshine filled memory, but distant nonetheless. The Hawaiian sun kissing my skin is especially missed during this East Coast cold front barreling in. I miss waking up to the sweet smelling air and knowing I could walk down to the Pacific and jump in with my new turtle friends at any time. 14 days spent on two Islands, soaking up the sun, touring a pineapple plantation, jumping off 40 foot high rocks into clear blue waters, consuming incredible food, delving into the local libations, and dragging myself away from buying every wood carved, flower designed, colorful material within arms reach.
A year later and its funny to think all I have is a carved wooden turtle, a missing chunk of my toe (reef and waves vs. toe…guess who won), and a whole lotta photos to cause a constant yearning to travel again. So here is my little photo diary of our trip to Hawaii. Local shots are nonexistent as they had little interest in us tourists but the decadent food, scenery, and adventures more than made up for it. A real lack of display of fashion but when you spend 14 days in a swimsuit, cover up, and mostly bare feet, that’s how it goes.
Hope this sparks the travel bug in you. xxDiana
