First let me warn you of my obsession with miniature things. Second let me warn you that I often refer to these miniature things with wiggling fingers and T-rex arm movements while referring to them as babies. Not sorry. So in an effort to bring nature indoors before the cold months roll in, I made a succulent (ahhhh little baby cacti so stinkin cute!) garden for my bedroom. Succulents are perfect for people who still want to have plants indoors but honestly don’t want much of a fuss. You can plant them in just about anything, they’re really low maintenance, and even they’re little nugget offspring (the leaves that fall off) can be planted to start a new succulent life. Snuggle these babies into a bowl and call yourself a gardener. Today I’m going to show you how to create your own super easy DIY Succulent Garden Home Decor. All you’ll need is…
::MATERIALS::
Potting soil . Succulents . Bowl or Dish . Aquarium Gravel (so many colors to choose from!) . Water
::INSTRUCTIONS::
1. Dump your succulents out of their little pots making sure to pour the rocks and sand into your bowl. Loosen them first by squeezing the plastic edges, if you just pull them out it can rip off their roots.
2. Fill your bowl about an inch from the top with soil and mix together the rocks, sand, and soil. (Pour a little water into the mix while you’re tossing it to moisten the mix) I KNOW I hate the word moist too… sorry
3. Dig small holes about an inch down, depending how deep your bowl is, and place your little babies in their new homes! Vary the heights and colors; it makes it more fun.
4. Sprinkle gravel around all the babes until the soil is covered.
5. And there you have it! Your perfect new babies all snug and being cute and prickly!
Water your new babies daily with a few squirts of water from a small spray bottle.
