Travel planning from even just five years ago is very different than travel planning today. With social media at the top of our photo concentration and especially as someone trying to create a career from travel blogging, travel planning can largely be based on photo planning. It sounds sad but let’s be serious, you’re here reading about top Instagram spots in Paris because you’re probably planning or looking for inspiration to plan a trip to Paris. We can’t help ourselves! I’m the first to admit my friend and I looked up others gorgeous tagged #paris posts while planning our Europe trip. What used to be planning where to stay and what to eat is now anything from best-hidden drink spots to what we’re here for today, tips like Top 8 Most Instagrammable Spots in Paris.
We love it! It feels amazing to get inspired to travel during our morning slave to social media ritual of Instagram over coffee. As someone who writes to inspire others, it’s a personal and business goal to inspire you to travel. Even through something as self-centered as my own Instagram posts. You don’t take them not to share them.
In cities as beautiful as Paris, you could really Instagram every building and little side street cafe. But if you don’t have ample time to just wander and you’re a planner like me, you’ll want to get the best photos at places you really want to see. You could walk around dumbfounded and awestruck at every corner but you have places to see and specific photos to take. You’ll spend your morning at a museum, lunch getting drunk on the cliché Paris cuisine of half decent wine and cheese, walking home with the Eiffel Tower twinkling in the distance and you’ll plot all your Instagram gems in between.
You will feel the urge to roll your eyes a bit knowing Paris is so good you can’t possibly portray its beauty in tiny photos your followers quickly scroll by, possibly giving a like but passing without the long-term analyzation of composition, lighting and awe your photo deserves but we’ll share them none the less. You can’t bring Paris home with you of course but its so nice to carry something back with you, even if its a photograph with a beautiful memory attached.

PSA: Just remember Instagram is the best and most beautiful moments in peoples lives. Instagram is meant to show off a seemingly “perfect” life, that’s why we love it, it’s our own photo bragging monolog. Don’t let it consume your travel plans and don’t ruin someone else’s memories with the need for the perfect shot. If, and hopefully when, you get that perfect shot, be happy, savor the moment and in-real-life beauty, if not, then move on.
