I don’t like wearing pants. There I said it. I like my yoga pants and my palazzo pants (aka stretchy or doesn’t really touch me) but other than that, I’m a dress and skirt girl all year. So needless to say when I find a winter skirt like this red high waisted pencil skirt I couldn’t wait to style it. What’s a winter skirt you ask? This is a skirt made with a thick warm material such as heavy cotton or wool and if you want a little extra warmth, go for a longer length and a higher waist. More coverage=more warmth.
I find most people steer clear of skirts, even midi or maxi skirts in winter because of the cold. But most places we go: restaurants, bars, someone’s house, concerts, etc. are all warm. You’re ankles barely have to brave the cold for more than a few minutes. Obviously, if you’re going to be outdoors longer I wouldn’t suggest a skirt (ever had a gust of freezing wind go up your skirt?… NOT FUN) but indoors means skirts! Throw on a graphic T and a leather jacket and you’ve got yourself a stylish winter outfit featuring your red high waisted pencil skirt.
Have I not convinced you to wear a skirt in winter yet? Add a large sweater and thigh-high boots with your skirt to add even more warmth. What’s your favorite winter skirt?
